For Fall/Winter 2012, Rocha gained inspiration from Hong Kong’s Happy Valley Race track and artist Sean Scully’s famous striped canvases. His favourable palette of black was consistent throughout as he continued with his signature looks of semi-sheer skirts, drapes, layering, and textured garments. The first look of the collection was a voluminous taffeta jacket with a sheer slip at the bottom. This mix of heavy and light was prominent in almost every piece in this collection. Including a black lambskin jacket, again matched with a sheer skirt. More impressive was a particular look that combined a leather jacket with a semi-sheer skirt complete with crochet and lambskin. The combination of textures and materials results in some very interesting and unique pieces that are both appealing and elaborate. 

This collection has got to one of the finest I have seen from John Rocha for a long time.
