PPQ
London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012-13
Friday 17th February
TRADITIONALLY anything goes at a PPQ show. It’s a scrum to get in, the paps pap away on the front row and you never quite
know what you’re going to expect other than fun. But this season PPQ has grown up and gone down a more sophisticated route
“It was a big change for us. We’re so known for doing short foxy dresses and making that transition to gowns and outerwear we hope we’ve managed it,”
said designer Amy Molyneaux backstage as she was greeted by the likes of Peaches Geldof, Jameela Jamil
and The Like’s Annie Monroe. “I’m really getting into this grown-up vibe. I think that’s where we are at now - that’s where the girls we are
dressing are now,” she said.
And there was a decidedly more grown-up feel to this collection - thick woolly and tweed coats that were like a warm hug to the
models wearing them, cinching in the waist as they went and boasting big collars. In black or cream, shapely swinging and swaying&
they came with scarves across their shoulder and belted into place - aptly conveying Molyneaux’s inspiration for the collection
- the “apocolyptic romance of winter”.
